More than 1,200 completely free Mac apps can be browsed by category. I found it quite simple to download those too; simply choose the one or as many as you want and click download and you are done. I found AppDonkey as most helpful and rich as far as Mac App availability is concerned. I didn’t find any wastage of space or anything which could consume my precious time more than necessary.

To the point, crisp and clear information makes this site great. Though it was not that pretty when compared to other websites but the grid pattern where app icons with small descriptions are placed is an example of thoughtful design which makes the site very efficient.

FreeMacWare

New apps, old apps, Tons of apps are available here. I didn’t find it as easy as AppDonkey but really liked the volume. I could find the archive as old as 2005. Icons of apps and their small description helps in app selection but screenshots of apps to know more about them are missing. It’s not a very good looking design but neat categorization is commendable.

It gets updated daily and the latest 10 apps are consolidated on the dashboard for quick reference. Maybe it is my choice as far as looks are concerned but as a Mac app resource definitely it should be at place.

FreeMacApps

This site was created to promote the use of free Mac software and to provide a simple one-stop solution for Mac owners to get all the best free Mac apps available for download on the web. On FreeMacApps I had to go to the original developer site to download the free Mac app but it is not a big deal when you get so many free apps where navigation and briefs are clean and clear.

MacUpdate

Here is one more pearl from the ocean; we can sort list by day, apps can be viewed by popularity. One thing I liked the most was the rating and review system which helps everyone to read other’s opinion about the app before download. Also when I was looking at an app I could also see the similar apps available. Not just that the entire system requirement is also mentioned on the site for every app. It is a tremendous site.

Mac-Torrents

Do I really need to say about this, is it not the name is sufficient? I found some real good apps for Mac here. A try is must and let me inform you this site also have other torrents like for movies and music. According to me design was decent but good apps are available and get updated on daily basis.

Then you are at the right place this information can be used to register easily and use the app as a fully registered user. Wait for 15 of every month and you get an update. Somebody told me “SerialBox” as it’s alternative though I have not tried it yet.

Mac App Store

Of course last one but not the least one; the official Mac app store. It is damn easy to download apps here. Thousands of app with quick downloads; do we need anything else?
