In KVM host, when creating a volume from volume offering, a qcow2 format file will be created. Its size is as large as the size defined in volume offering. But since the qcow2 could be copy on right, it might be able to create a very small size file at beginning. It is fast and space saving. It will also help to save time when create volume template from volume.
