Dr. Joshua Bloch, the author of Effective Java, lends his support to this petition. He was Google's Chief Java Architect until 2012 and he is the architect of numerous Java features including Java Collections framework, java.math and assert mechanism. He is considered to be among the top 40 software experts in the world.
