Bug Description

When loading up the daily iso for 20140904 the background image does not show up on the Try or Install screen, it's just black.

The same issue is present in today's daily, 2014-09-05. The TRY option doesn't boot, it freezes on a background screen.

The try issue is seperate - changing to vt1 you can see that loginctl show-seat seat0 gives you CanGraphical=no, possibly tied in with lp:1365336

This bug is a duplicate of one we've seen previously - I just can't find it at present

I'm not convinced that this is really a bug in xubuntu-default-settings, but maybe something in Ubiquity has changed. I remember we had similar troubles in previous cycles (the logic for setting the wallpaper had changed, iirc).
Maybe an ubiquity developer could give us some insight there?
